Welcome to the first Melbourne International Open. Brought to you by Independent Chess Australia and hosted by Melbourne Chess Club, this event is not one to be missed.

Located in the heart of Fitzroy, the MIO will run over five days and can accomodate approximately 170 players. If you are planning in playing both the Doeberl Cup and the MIO but still find yourself eager to play more chess - the MIO is included as the classical section of the MCC Autumn Festival of Chess. The festival also includes an open blitz, rapid, and bughouse event (the details of which will be posted early 2024).

We are looking forward to welcoming all local, national, and international players to the 2024 Melbourne International Open.
